Rajasthan Gujarat Textile & Art Tour

Day 01- Arrive Delhi by international flight

(Accommodation being held from this day to hold the occupancy on immediate basis)

No meal included on this day.

Day 02- Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi International airport after clearing immigration formalities, you will meet our representative in arrival hall holding paging of your name. He will further assist you to your vehicle and then hotel check-in formalities. (Standard check-in time is 1200 hours)

After freshen up and breakfast at hotel sightseeing will start at 11:30. (As monument closed at

18: 00 hrs ,we need to complete it on time. Moreover during winter days are shorter and sun sets early).

Post lunch visit New Delhi or Lutyens Delhi, beautifully designed by “Sir Edwin Lutyens”, drive pass India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Connaught Place. Later continue the sightseeing visiting, Humayun Tomb, the tomb was built in 1570 and was the first garden tomb made by Humayun’s son Akbar. It is Unesco world heritage site.

Conclude the sightseeing with the visit of “Qutub Minar”, the stunning red stone tower is 72.5 m high with 2.75m in diameter. It is also UNESCO site.

Evening will be at leisure to relax or to pursue independent activities. Dinner at local restaurant near.

Day 03- Delhi – Agra (approx.. 203 Kms/ 4 hours)

Post breakfast drive to Agra. The land of the Taj is not only famous for the biggest allure “Taj Mahal” but also legacy of Mughals which they had left behind. Their legacy can be seen in mausoleums, tombs and magnificent fort.

On arrival check in at hotel. Later visit Mehtab Bagh. Mehtab Bagh is located on the left bank of Yamuna opposite Taj Mahal. The garden complex is approximately 300 square meters and is in straight alignment with the Taj Mahal.The excavation has revealed a huge octagonal tank on the southern periphery; Baradaris or pavilion on the East and West; a small octagonal tank at the center and a gateway at the Northern wall.

19^th September’2022   Day 04- Monday Agra

Early morning sunrise visit of Taj Mahal. (Closed on Friday)

Post breakfast visit Agra Fort. Red Fort, it is an UNESCO heritage site. It is a major tourist attraction from all over the world. The fort is built in red stone to make it main residence of Mughals.

Later enjoy walking tour discovering Oriental Agra program is conducted by using Eco friendly Battery operated Rickshaws. In this tour Tourists get to see Dara Shikoh’s library, Mirza Ghalib’s birthplace, the headquarters of the Radhasoami faith, the ancient Manka Meshwar temple, the Jama Masjid, and churches of different Christian sects, St. Patrick’s Junior College – Asia’s oldest convent and the Akbar Church. On the way, they will see the early morning bustle at the shoe mandi in Johri Bazar, the only street of Ayurvedic doctors, the paan and the petha mandi and the food street of Seth Gali. This tour is a very interactive tour and includes both walk and ride.

Day 05- Agra – Jaipur (approx.. 260 Kms/ 5-6 hours)

Post breakfast drive to Jaipur en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri. The short lived capital of Mughal emperor Akbar “Fatehpur Sikri “is 40 kms away from Agra. Sufi Saint Salim Chisti from Sikri village predicted the birth of an heir to Mughal throne. Akbar then built this beautiful monument which blend of Mughal and Persian art.

Continue drive to Jaipur enroute visit Abhaneri Stepwell. It is one of the largest step wells in the world and also one of the most beautiful ones. Located in the eastern part of the province of Rajasthan, it was built by King Chanda somewhere in the 9th century. The Chand Baori is not an easy landmark to find, thus it is one of the hidden secrets of India Chand Baori one was built during the 8th and 9th centuries and has 3,500 narrow steps arranged in perfect symmetry, which descend 20m to the bottom of the well.

After visiting step well continue drive to Jaipur.  Jaipur also known as pink city because of its wall color which are exclusively painted in pink color. This colorful city has chaotic streets, colorful auto rickshaw and lively culture. It is the gateway to Rajasthan vacation, here you can still see royal life, forts and Palaces reflecting glorious past.

On arrival check in at hotel. Evening will be at leisure to relax or to pursue independent activities.

Day 06- Jaipur

After early breakfast proceed to visit Amber Fort en-route stop at Hawa Mahal for clicking some pictures.it is a stunning 5 story building. It was built to enable royal ladies see daily lives of the city or some function or procession as those days ladies had to cover their faces.

Later visit Anokhi museum. A trip to the Amber Fort is a popular destination when touring Jaipur, but visitors are increasingly adding what critics have called ‘a little gem of a museum’ on to their list as well. In the Fort’s shadow and a mere ten minute walk through the cobbled streets of Amber, the historic capital of Rajasthan, lies the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing (AMHP). Located in a magnificently restored haveli or mansion, the museum displays a varied selection of block printed textiles alongside images, tools and related objects – all chosen to provide an in-depth look into the complexity of this ancient tradition.

Afternoon visit City Palace (Royal residence) & observatory (Jantar Mantar).

Later visit making of Lac Bangles. Bangles are known by many different names across the country.  There is a high demand for lac bangles mostly during festivals and occasions in India. Even foreign people has started adorning these Lac bangles and are even exporting these bangles to foreign countries.

Evening you will visit bustling yet colorful market showcasing beautiful handicraft, Rajasthan jewelry and shoes. You can get your hand painted with traditional Indian design of henna. It looks really awesome.

Dinner will be at local restaurant with Rajasthani dance.

Day 07- Bhuj: in the tribal areas

Later proceed to visit the tribal areas of Southern Banni villages Enjoy the encounter with the original India and its people.

Day 08- Jaipur – Ahmedabad by flight Departure

Early morning pick up with packed breakfast and transfer to airport to board the flight for Ahmedabad.

Meeting and assistance on arrival at the airport and directly proceed for city sightseeing visiting Mahatama Gandhi Ashram, Jumma Masjid, Mosque of Siddi Saiyyed.

Mahatma Gandhi Sabarmati Ashram:- Sabarmati Ashram (also known as  Harijan  Ashram) was home to Mohandas Gandhi from 1917 until 1930 and served as one of the main centres of the Indian freedom struggle. Originally called the Satyagraha Ashram, reflecting the movement toward passive resistance launched by the Mahatma, the Ashram became home to the ideology that set India free. Sabarmati Ashram named for the river on which it sits River Sabarmati.

Mosque of Sidi  Saiyyed:-  Sidi  Saiyyed  Mosque  is  one  of  most  well-known  mosques  of Ahmedabad, and it’s famous ‘Tree of Life Jali’ or latticework done on  the  semi-  circular arch-windows has come to symbolise the city and its grandeur known for its architecture.

Post Lunch Visit demo of Kalamkari work done by Vaghri community.

Day 09- Ahmedabad – Little Rann Of Kutch (approx. 250 Kms/6 hrs drive)

Breakfast and drive to Little Rann of Kutch

Patan: Patan was an ancient Hind capital before Mahmud of Ghazni sacked it in 1024. Patan is famous for its beautifully designed patola silk saris, you can visit the Museum of National award winner Salvi family to see the weaving of Patola sarees. There is also the renovated Rani-ki-Vav, a step well which boasts of some of Gujarat’s finest carvings and is also a World Heritage Site.

Modhera : Modhera The beautiful and partially ruined sun temple of Modhera was built by King Bhimdev I (1026-27) and bears some resemblance to the later, far better known, Sun Temple of Konark, Orissa. It was designed so that the dawn sun shone on the image of sun God at the time of the equinoxes.

Day 10- Little Rann Of Kutch- Bhuj  (approx. 250 Kms 5.5 hrs drive)

Morning Safari:- Visit to the Wild Ass Sanctuary at Little Rann of Kutch. The Sanctuary is known for Wild Ass which are found only in the region in India, it is also known for the marshy area where you will see a variety of birds such as flamingo pink, duck, crane, etc.

After breakfast drive to the Bhuj. On arrival check in at hotel.

Post Lunch visit Bhuj for local Sight Seeing of Palaces, Museum and Market Area.

Aina Mahal:- Aina Mahal is an 18th century palace that was built during the flamboyant rule of Lakhpatji. The layout, design and decorations of Aina Mahal were highly influenced by a royal dream that had eventually been converted into reality by an extremely deft craftsman Ramsinh Malam.

Prag Mahal:- Prag Mahal which may at first seem out of place at the far western edge of India looking more appropriate in France. This  is a palace commissioned by King Pragmalji in 1860’s designed by Colonel Henry Saint Wilkins in the Italian Gothic style and built next to the Aina Mahal.

Day 11- Bhuj –Banni Village

Full day shall spent on visiting villages for Workshop / Demo Programs.

Villages like Sumrasar Village which has Kala Raksha a famous Textile NGO with focus on different art work with use of embroidery. The emphasis has been on empowering women in the region by developing their skills with focus on textile handicrafts.

Post Lunch  visit Nirona Village to see Rogan Art work which is done in only this one Village in India also experience Bell Making and Lacquer Work done in the Village.

Day 12- Bhuj –Banni Village (approx. 140 KMS 3 hrs drive)

Post breakfast visit Northern Banni Villages like Bhirindiyara, Hodka, Dhordo each displaying skills of their artisans that make beautiful embroideries, colorful, inlaid mirrors and leather work. The different villages have people belonging to Rabari, Meghwal, Harijans, Mutwa Community.

Day 13- Bhuj – Ajrakpur – Bhujodi – Bhuj (approx. 70 Kms 1.5 hrs drive) Breakfast at Hotel

Ajrakpur – Visit Ajrakpur to see Ajrak work, Ajrak is a block-printed textile that is resist dyed using natural dyes including indigo and madder. It is made by Khatris community in Kutch, Gujarat and is distinguished by its colour- blue with red – and its complex geometric & floral patterns.

LLDC Museum – Living and Learning Design Centre (LLDC) is a pioneering new effort of the Shrujan Trust to preserve, revitalize and promote the glorious craft heritage of Kutch. Dedicated to the craftspeople of Kutch, LLDC aims to train, educate and support crafts persons to practice their traditional crafts for contemporary markets so that they can earn a dignified and prosperous living.

Bhujodi Village to meet National Award winning weavers known for their Shawls and weaving.

Day 14-  Bhuj- Ahmedabad (approx. 330 Kms/ 06-07 hrs drive)

Post breakfast drive to Ahmedabad. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the day will be at leisure to relax.

Day 15- Ahmedabad – Delhi by flight Departure

Post breakfast proceed to visit Jumma Masjid:– The  Jama  Masjid of Ahmedabad was probably the largest mosque  in   the Subcontinent built in this period. Designed as part of a major plan desired by the Emperor Sultan Ahmed Shah.

Later visit Calico Museum (CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS AND STRICLTY SUBJECT TO PERMISSON IN ADVANCE) in Morning, experience one of India’s best Textile Museum. The collection of fabrics spanning varied and remote regions of India and exemplifies handicrafts spread across five centuries. The textile were collected with vision to conserve, build awareness and empower the vast and deep textile heritage of India There are some astoundingly beautiful pieces, displaying incredible virtuosity and extravagance. You’ll see Kashmiri shawls that took three years to make, and doubleikat cloths whose 100,000 threads were each individually dyed before weaving.

After museum visit in time transfer to airport to board the flight for Delhi. On arrival at Delhi airport board the flight for onward destination.
